Dear Valued Customer
Following the declaration of a national lockdown by President Cyril Ramaphosa, I am writing to assure you that Engen is fully committed to meeting and supporting your motoring needs over the next three weeks.
Our 1 000+ service stations and convenience stores across South Africa will continue to be operational.
Furthermore, as the provider of an essential service, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the fuel needs of the critical and essential services are provided for as they carry out their duty to serve South Africa.
While this is an exceptionally onerous time for the country, we expect no disruption of our capabilities to supply the market over the three-week national lockdown and beyond.
In line with our companywide focus on safety, we continue to uphold the wellbeing of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate.
Significant controls are in place to mitigate any possible transmission of COVID-19 amongst Engen frontline staff and those they serve during their work. This includes, amongst others:
• Consistent cleansing and sanitizing of points of contact, such as cash payment points, counter surfaces, rest rooms and grocery baskets;
• Promotion of compulsory regular hand-washing amongst forecourt staff and cashiers;
• Maintenance of safe distances amongst employees and customers; and
• Prominent display of safety notices where possible for employees and customers.
Substantial measures are also firmly in place to sanitize our storage and manufacturing facilities, and our operational vehicles. These are consistently reassessed for effectiveness.
I want to take this opportunity to wish you good health and commit to getting through this time together. While the path ahead may seem uncertain, we at Engen believe in the journey communicated by our President.
Should you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Centre (086 003 6436), which will be fully operational to support you over the course of the national lockdown.
Rest assured that we are closely monitoring events and will update you timeously should the situation change.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
