With just over a week to go, the Engen Xtreme Team are extremely charged and
looking forward to lining up at the start for the first round of the 2011
WesBank Super Series. All of the action will be taking place on Saturday 05
March 2011 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Midrand.
The Engen Xtreme Team driver line up for 2011 will be Engen Xtreme Team Audi
driver, Michael Stephen and trackside partner Tschops Sipuka who will be
competing in the Bridgestone Production Class A category. Racing in the VW
Polo Cup Series with their slick new Engen Synthetic Formulation branded
black and grey livery, will again be 2010 Masters Champion, Miguel Pasqualli
and 2009 Rookie of Year, Kosie Weyers.
A new development for the 2011 VW Polo Cup Series will be a change in the
race fuel specification which will see the entire field will now race on
Engen’s Dynamic 95 Unleaded product. This commercially available fuel has
had extensive pre season testing with Volkswagen Motorsport. Feedback
received has been excellent and the sponsor is confident that all
competitors are going to love driving it.
After a nail biting 2010 season with excellent overall results, the team is
confident and determined to bring home podium finishes and more championship
wins. Engen Xtreme Team Manager, Michael Stephen commented: ‘Having finished
on the championship podium three years in a row, 2011 is the year to step up
to the number one spot. We are extremely excited as we will be launching the
new Audi S4 this year which will make the Xtreme Team far more competitive,
keeping our rivals hopefully in our rearview mirrors. With all the hard work
that has been put in, I am confident that bar any serious race incidents
during the season, this year we will be Xtreme’s year when we can reward our
sponsor, Engen with a championship.’
2011 will see Engen continue their support for the Red Cross War Memorial
Children’s Hospital and specifically, it’s world renowned Burns Unit. The
coming season will see a continuance of the ‘Racing for Red’ campaign where
funds are donated for every point the drivers score during the race season.
