Engen Xtreme Team anticipates Engen National Race Day
Friday, 23 April 2010
With one week to go, the Engen Xtreme Team is feeling confident about the
much-anticipated Engen National Race Day taking place at Aldo Scribante
circuit in Port Elizabeth on Saturday 01 May, 2010.
Getting everyone into gear for this year' Engen National Race Day, Engen
will be hosting a promotion at the William Moffet service station on
Thursday 29 April, 2010 where visitors can grab the opportunity to meet the
Engen Xtreme Team drivers and see their cars close up. Motoring enthusiasts
can also have their pictures taken in the Engen Xtreme Audi and VW or with
their favourite Engen Xtreme driver. Engen Synthetic Lubricants will also
generously give away mini lubricant promotional bottles to lucky visitors at
this fun-filled promotion.
Engen also aims to further enhance visitors to the Xtreme Xperience Tent at
this year's Engen National Race Day, with a variety of events that promise
to be fun for everyone. Engen Xtreme activities include driver meet and
greet signing sessions and Nintendo Wii games where racing fans who are
gaming enthusiasts will get a chance to compete on a virtual racing circuit.
A live DJ performance will set the atmosphere for a fun-filled afternoon
with the latest tunes and promotional give-aways.
One of the most popular attractions in the Xtreme Xperience tent is always
the F1 Simulator and this year, motor fans can again look forward to testing
their driving skills. Having proven itself time and time again to be a major
hit among the kids, but even more popular among dads, the new interactive
version, F1 Simulator will keep both young and old aspiring race drivers
captivated, allowing them to get into this mean machine and put their
driving skills to the test. Volkswagen will further fuel motor enthusiasts'
passion by showing off their new Polo range including the newly-launched,
Polo Vivo.
On top of all these exciting activities, Engen will also be running a SMS
competition in the week leading up to the big race day, with the grand prize
being a family weekend away for four to Kuzuko Lodge; two hours outside of
Port Elizabeth. To stand a chance of winning this fantastic prize, fans must
answer the following question: Who is the title sponsor of the National Race
Day at Aldo Scribante race track on Saturday, 01 May 2010? SMS your answer
with your name and surname to 33009. Competition lines open on Monday, 26
April and close at midnight on Saturday, 01 May 2010. SMS cost R1.50. (See
T&C below)
Engen will also continue their ongoing support of the Red Cross War Memorial
Children's Hospital through its 'Racing for Red' campaign where a generous
amount of R130 is donated for every point the drivers score during the race.
After the event at Killarney, the team scored 141 points moving this
season's 'Racing for Red' campaign up to R18 330.
The 'Racing for Red' fundraising initiative forms an integral part of the
overarching Engen Red Cross Children's Hospital campaign that aims to raise
'R1 million by 2010' across all of Engen's sport sponsorship portfolios. So
far, the overall fundraising campaign has donated ,more than R700 000 and
with the upcoming Engen National Race Day will have another great
opportunity to maximize funds to move the fundraising campaign even closer
to the target of R1 million.
