Role, Priorities and Principles
Our Role: Catalysts for social change and co-creators of solutions
As Engen acts with a more strategic approach to its Corporate Social Investment
and one that is more solution-based than project-based, the nature of Engen's role
in this field has transformed into one of a "catalytic co-creator".
Our Programme Priorities
In line with the issue and development drive that informs Engen's Corporate Social
Investment we have identified Education, Safety and Environment as our key focus
areas. Our strategic CSI is therefore strongly aligned with creating sustainable
futures for Engen and its stakeholder communities. These principles will be applied
consistently to all investments and initiatives.
Community outreach investments play an important role in creating supportive and
mutually beneficial relationships in the communities in which we invest.
Principles
Given the shift in focus from project-based initiatives to a long-term developmental
and strategic approach, sees future Corporate Social Investment initiatives evaluated
against a set of principles. This ensures that our initiatives have a more development-focused
orientation that promotes alignment with the business, looking at ownership, capacity
building, measurable outcomes and accountability.
